A committee election is the process of society members voting to choose someone to be one of their leaders. By holding elections, society members are able to influence the decisions about how their society is run. To win an election, you would need to persuade the society members to vote for you - this is usually done by explaining what you would do for the society and why you would be suitable for role.
This whole process takes place online.
To apply for a society committee position you must be a member of that group first. All society memberships can be joined online here.
Once you are a member you will be able to apply for a committee position through the 'Elections' tab on a society's page. Here is a video which demonstrates this process in further detail.
The deadline to stand in these elections is the 11:59pm, Sunday 18th October. If you are successfully elected, you will hold your committee position to the end of the 2020/21 academic year.
