About People of Colour

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

This society represents a protected characteristic and are free for any student to join. They allow you to meet like-minded people and can offer a safe space for under-represented communities.

However we still need a committee to run the society - if you're interested in helping out, send an email to liam.lees@bcu.ac.uk and we'll be in touch!
What We Do
Socials

We believe the BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) community is stronger together! We develop a programme of events to help BAME students collaborate, and build community bonds. Get in touch to discover what we've got planned, and get involved.

Black History Month

We're funded by your Students' Union to coordinate Black History Month, and work to institutionalise it at your Students' Union. We work closely with our members, and collaboratively with Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, to provide a united front and celebrate Black History. We've even got our own page at bcusu.com/black-history-month. You can get involved to help us develop or plans, or see what we're up to, by getting in touch.

We are a Liberation Society!

Our Society is a Liberation Society, which means we never close down, are free to join and are funded by your Students' Union for our events and activities.

This is because we represent a key demographic of Birmingham City University, and are recognised by the National Union of Students as part of their Liberation Campaign.
