As well as providing extra cash while you study, paid work experience will also contribute towards your CV and make you more attractive to future employers. If you’re an International Student, make sure you have permission to work and check any conditions

BCU Support Funds

Tax

Student Tax

Students in the UK are liable to pay income tax and National Insurance contributions on their earnings, just like everyone else. Student must pay
Income Tax: If you earn more than £1,048 a month on average - this is your Personal Allowance
National Insurance: if you earn more than £242 a week

Council Tax

Students are ‘exempt’ from council tax, meaning they don’t have to pay. However, there are some other things to consider about council tax.
