Our members range from complete beginners ( have never sat on a horse) to the seasoned player. You don't need to own a polo pony to join. The club offers a fantastic oppotunity to learn how to play polo at an affordable price.
Polo lessons are usually every Wednesday and Saturday at Offchuch Bury Polo Club (OBPC). But this changes between the summer and the winter season. Lessons cover technique, riding, rules, tactics and polo skills. Each lesson is delivered by a qualified HPA Polo instructor. We are able to have lessons on any day of the week provided there's a least 4 people attending. The cost per lessoon is £25 for beginners and £30 for novices.
Lessons last for one hour and are tremendous fun!
We have two main tournaments per year, both organised by the Schools & Universities Polo Association (SUPA). One is held in winter, at Rugby Polo Club and the other in Summer at Offchurch Bury Polo Club (OCBPC). This is a chance to compete against the other University Polo teams throughtout the country. It is also a fantastic social event where everyone has the same thing in common, the love for polo.
Membership costs £45 per year (inc a NON-BUCS sports card) plus session fees.
** Disclaimer - Upon buying the membeship the students are to understand they accept the risks involved in being around horses and recognise polo is a high risk sport. They are to understand that any equestrian sports could result in falls and polo is a contact game which increases this risk.**
You will need to add the £15 membership to your basket, then when you go to pay, add the £30 NON BUCS sports card to your total.
If you join our free Interest List, you will be added to our mailing list temporarily.
