Our members range from complete beginners, who have never sat on a horse, to seasoned players. You don't need to own a polo pony to join. and the club offers a fantastic oppotunity to learn how to play polo at an affordable price.
Polo lessons are usually every Tuesday and Friday at Offchuch Bury Polo Club - but this can change between the Summer and Winter season.
Lessons last for an hour and cover technique, riding, rules, tactics and polo skills. Each lesson is delivered by a HPA qualified instructor and we're able to have lessons on any day of the week provided there's a least 4 people attending. The cost per lesson is £25 for beginners and £30 for novices (which is in addition to your membership payment).
We have two main tournaments per year, both organised by the Schools & Universities Polo Association. One is held in winter, at Rugby Polo Club and the other in Summer at Offchurch Bury Polo Club. This is a chance to compete against the other university Polo teams from around the country as well as being a fantastic social event where everyone has the same thing in common.
Membership costs £45 per year (including a non-BUCS sports card) plus session fees.
Anyone who buys a membership, and trains or competes, accepts the risks involved in being around horses and recognises that polo is a high risk sport. Any equestrian sports could result in falls and polo is a contact game which increases this risk.
If you wish to continue, you should add the £15 membership to your basket. When you reach the checkout, you will be prompted to add the £30 Non-BUCS card.
