Birmingham City University (BCU) triumph 7-3 over Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in a thrilling football match held on Saturday.

The match started with MMU taking an early lead, with a goal in the first 20 minutes. However, BCU fought back not only equalising,  but going up 3-1 before half-time.   

In the second half, MMU tried to mount a comeback, but BCU's attacking prowess proved too much for and BCU were able to seal a decisive 7 –3 victory. MMU managed to score a few more goals, but it was not enough to catch up. 

The final score of was a testament to BCU's dominance on the field and showcased the attacking skill of both teams. The event, organised by Nathan Keseka (Vice President Opportunities & Community), drew a large crowd of students, staff, and football enthusiasts. The atmosphere was electric as supporters cheered on their teams and the players gave their all on the pitch.

After the match, Nathan expressed his delight at the event's success:

"It was a great match, and I'm thrilled that BCU came out on top. The atmosphere was amazing, and I'm glad that so many people came out to support their teams. This is just the beginning of what I hope will be many successful events organised by the Students' Union." 

BCU's team was made up of students from BCU's West Indian Society; including BCU's goalkeeper Moyosoreoluwa Majekodunmi tho was named player of the match, after making several crucial saves that kept MMU at bay. 

Special thanks were given to Xavier Iwegbu and Kwame Boakye-Yiadom for their efforts in getting the MMU and BCU teams together for the match. Social media coverage and photography was provided by, Israel Wangu, Francis Bangura, Stantara De Freitas, and RadmanTV throughout the day, documenting the excitement and energy of the match. Their coordination and support were instrumental in making the event a success. 

The match also gained attention on social media, with popular TikTok influencer Keno giving it a shoutout to his 4.1 million followers. This has helped to raise awareness of the event and BCU's sporting achievements.

Overall, the BCU vs MMU football match was a resounding success, showcasing the talents of both teams and bringing together students for an exciting afternoon of football.
