BCUSU currently have 8 vacancies across our retail outlets:
- Curzon Campus Shop (ground floor) - 3 positions available
- City South Campus Shop (ground floor) - 4 positions available
- Parkside Campus Shop (third floor) - 1 position available
Our Campus Shops sell convenient products, meal deals, snacks, sweets, drinks, and student essentials. Our student team members work on a casual basis, ensuring a good balance to fulfil your study commitments, the opportunitiy to earn money and to gain skills for your CV.
We have 8 positions available across all our Campus Shops and you can choose your preference during the application process, however there is an expectation that if willing and required you may cover shifts across all our outlets. Any requirement to cover shifts will always be discussed with you in advance, once you have committed to a shift we expect fulfilment and reliability.
Job responsibilities

Assist with the daily operation of the shop (staffing tills, serving customers, stocking shelves)

Deliver exceptional customer service

Ensure the outlet is presentable at all times
Who we're looking for

Hours
Shifts are typically 3-6 hours in length and you work on a shift basis to ensure the opening hours of each venue can be fulfilled, click here to view our opening hours.
Our Campus Shops are closed on weekends but may require coverage of shift for University Open Days or Applicant Taster Days. Please note, during quiet periods of the year our shops may close or have less shifts available (during study breaks in Winter, Easter and the summer)
Pay
£12.21 per hour
Deadline

Interviews
During week commening Monday 30th June.
Interviews are typically 30 minutes in length with the manager of the department. There will be various questions to help us identify that you have the skills and personal attributes that we value in our student staff. Online interviews can be offered.

Selection process
Previous experience working in retail is helpful but is not essential. When you apply you are asked to provide a few sentences about yourself and why we should consider for this role. If you don’t have any previous experience, tell us about other times you have worked successfully as part of a team or where you’ve gained customer service experience in a different setting.
