Student Trustee

Birmingham City University Students’ Union, or BCUSU, is a charity with a purpose; to empower students with the means to shape their own lives.

We have over 24,000 members studying at campuses around Birmingham.

We are looking for three voluntary Student Trustees in their first or second year to lead the organisation into a new era.  Following years of stable growth, we have a strategic plan in place to ensure we pursue new ways of engaging our members which can be found here https://www.bcusu.com/strategicplan/;we are a registered charity and are continuing to enhance our commercial independency to guarantee positive experiences for students. In addition, we have by-laws to make our governance and democratic structure more accessible and appealing to members.

 As a Student Trustee you will be able to express yourself confidently and voice other students’ opinions, drawing from t your own personal experience. You must be able to attend a minimum of 4/5 two hour meetings a year, reading papers in advance and attending briefing sessions.

Your personal drive and passion will ensure you support our core functions and meet our members’ expectations.  You will be able to lead and support the Executive Officers and staff team in delivering innovative projects in our exciting and ambitious organisation.
