What would your priorities be if you were elected?
As your VP Opportunities and Community, I will focus on the following key areas:
Supporting Student Opportunities:?I am committed to expanding the range of opportunities available to students. I'll work with the student council to create a diverse range of clubs, societies, and volunteer opportunities. Partnering with local businesses, start-ups, and organizations will provide students with access to internships and career development opportunities, making valuable connections in their respective fields.
Community Building:?I understand the importance of creating a sense of community for students. I have first-hand experience on how University can be a daunting experience, especially for new students who are away from home for the first time. That's why I will work to create opportunities for students to connect and build relationships. This will include events such as welcome parties, social gatherings, and cultural celebrations that celebrate diversity.
International Student Comprehensive Support:?As a supporter of international students, I believe in providing international students with comprehensive support services, including visa and immigration issues, academic support services, counselling, and language support services, to help them navigate cultural differences and language barriers and feel supported.
