About Pole Fitness

BCU Pole Fitness welcomes members of all levels of ability, whether you’re a complete beginner or have previous experience. Our weekly classes, run by Lucille Marshall, Kya Sanders, and Connie Taylor from Bodysynergy, are a great way to make new friends while building up skills and confidence.

We offer free tasters at the beginning of each semester, where you can give it a go and find out if Pole Fitness is something for you. Afterwards, we host meet and greets at the Eagle and Ball where you can chat to our committee, instructors and current members. Alongside these, we host frequent socials (both sober and drinking-optional) so that you can meet new people and have fun! Please keep an eye out for updated information on our classes and socials on our Instagram.

Plus, every summer we host our showcase so that you can show off your amazing skills to friends and family, and our charity awards night for performance societies to celebrate our incredible achievements of the year.

Sessions

Our hourly classes take place every Wednesday in Curzon B from 4pm, and Thursdays from 5:30pm. Room number will be confirmed weekly on our Instagram and Whatsapp members groupchat. Book onto classes via the link in our members whatsapp group.

All sessions will start with a warm-up, your attendance at which is essential in order to participate in the rest of the class, so please ensure to arrive at least five minutes prior to the start time.

Membership

To join our classes, you will need to purchase a membership through our page at bcusu.com, which will last until the end of the academic year. This is a one-off payment of £90, which gives you access to our weekly classes, which works out to be £2.60 per session if you attend each week. The average cost is around £10 per session in Birmingham.

After purchasing your membership, you will receive an email from us outlining details about our sessions, class rules and our groupchat link. This is where you can ask questions, share moves you want to try, reach out to our committee and make friends with other members.

Feel free to contact us through by email - polefitness@bcusu.com - or Instagram.
