At BCUSU LGBTQ+ Society, we host socials, meetings and events for all LGBTQ+ students and allies at BCU.
We provide a safe space to meet other people, raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights and campaign on issues affecting us. If there is something affecting your time at University we want to know!
We are currently on summer break but will resume meeting following Welcome Week! Check out our events listings for rooms and what we have planned. We will soon be launching our 2022/23 Discord server for our members, to join just sign up as a member and get in touch via email firstname.lastname@example.org or via Instagram (BCUSU_LGBTQ) with confirmation of your membership.
Each year we take part in the annual Birmingham Pride, one of the UK's largest 2-day Pride festivals. Birmingham Pride 2022 is to take place on the 24th & 25th of September and you can bet we'll be there! More information coming soon...
Every February we work with the university and Students' Union to plan a month of fantastic and informative events to mark LGBT+ History Month. Although we work super hard on LGBT+ History Month, representation is important throughout the year and we hold lots of events:

Our Society is a Protected Society, which means we never close down, are free to join and are funded by your Students' Union for our events and activities.
This is because we represent a key demographic of Birmingham City University, and are recognised by the National Union of Students as part of their Liberation Campaign.
