Hi Everyone
Thank you so much for joining the Random Acts of Kindness Society.
I am hoping to send out some semi-regular mail outs of what’s been happening and what’s going on. If you have any news or have completed a Random Act yourself, do let me know and I can include that as well! (if postig on social media, be sure to use #bcusubekind !
So, here goes with the first mailing!!!!

Since formally launching in January, our Facebook page has received 89 likes – which is incredible for a group starting at this time of the year! We’ve also had 6 registered members. A small number, but again, a great start for this time of year. If you know anyone interested, do share the Facebook and joining information with them. We want to create a movement and we can only do this with your help!
___
So, I’ve been posting some Random Acts tips and ideas, so far we have (with some examples!);
Buy a coffee for a homeless person (check if they want it first!) – see pictures
Leave some food / snacks in a vending machine - see pictures
Write an anonymous thank you note for someone
Photo coming very soon! Keep an eye on our Facebook for this one!
Do send in your own ideas if you have any

We’ve announced our first event which is looking for volunteers.
Our first event will be 14th February and we are looking for volunteers.
Read on for more information!
We will have a stall downstairs on 14th February in Curzon where we are encouraging students to come over and make an origami heart, while we treat them to some sweets in return. The stall is completely free and is a way for us to raise awareness of our society, but also just an opportunity to spread some love, fun and smiles!
We are looking for 6 volunteers to help in running the stall in shifts of 2.5 hours. We need:
• 3 people to volunteer from 10am until 12.30pm
• 3 people to volunteer from 12.30pm until 3pm
As a token of our appreciation, we are offering these 6 people a £5 voucher for the Eagle and Ball.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in this opportunity by contacting nyssa.koring@bcu.ac.uk and myself on laura.bowen5@mail.bcu.ac.uk . These volunteering hours can go towards Graduate+ and Stand Out Award as well, and volunteering experience always looks good on your CV. We want this to be a fun experience for you as well as the students visiting our stall.

Finally, if you want to do some random acts, don’t forget the following;
- Where possible take a photo and share your act on social media using hashtag #bcusubekind
- Print out some of the leaflets (see attached) and use them if you can. Alternatively, come and collect paper copies from room C181
- Being kind doesn’t have to involve money or gifts. It can be something as simple as a thank you, or holding a door open!
- Let’s create a movement of kindness!
