Help make BCU a Hedgehog friendly campus

Get involved with sustainability at BCU...

Come take part in BCU's Hedgehog Friendly Campus (HFC) campaign, to make University a place wildlife can thrive...

The University previously achieved Silver in the HFC scheme, which sets out tasks and activities that universities can complete to support hedgehogs, as well as improve biodiversity and support all wildlife.

Hedgehogs are vulnerable to extinction in the UK, having declined by up to 50% since the 2000, due to factors such as habitat loss, urban development, roads and garden hazards.

Created and run by Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK), the HFC scheme includes activities like setting up hedgehog shelters and bug hotels, raising awareness and conducting litter-picks to curb threats to hedgehogs posed by litter.

Staff and students are encouraged to get involved in these activities with BCU's Environmental Team, if you're interested and want to keep up to date with HFC activities, complete the form below.
