February is LGBT+ History Month – an annual month long observance which celebrates the visibility, lives, experiences and achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people throughout history.

At BCUSU we’re proud of our diverse community which supports students of any sexual orientation or gender identity, you can use this page to find out how to get involved with the LGBT+ community at BCU and in Birmingham!

"This year’s theme is Medicine: Under the Scope, which explores the history of healthcare individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and the advancements in healthcare technology that has helped reproductive healthcare, and care of diseases like HIV and AIDs.

"BCUSU is continuing to advocate for LGBTQ+ students by working closely with the LGBTQ+ Society, to work on some of their campaigns, fighting for trans rights, educating students, and participating in Birmingham Pride.

"This year, BCUSU is happy to host our second LGBTQ+ Fair (on Tuesday 13th February), where we will invite organisations to speak about their work in for the LGBTQ+ community, from across Birmingham and the West Midlands. You’ll also have the chance to speak with BCU services to find out what is support available for you at uni."
