International student buddies

In BLSS we have international student buddies but other faculties don't seem to also have this position available. In this position, students run events and assist the international students at our uni. This helps them to adjust to uni life and make friends. I think it would be beneficial for there to either be teams for each faculty or a central group that runs. I would like the SU to work with the team on a larger scale so that other faculties can see the benefit of having this kind of position.

Luke McCombe: 7:38pm on 21 Oct 22 Hello! I was wondering if the Students Union has an update on this. The idea has passed the required voting threshold (both the old one and the new one) and I find it very interesting that no work has been done to forward this despite the idea being a year old.
Union President: 2:17am on 5 Mar 23 The Students’ Union will work with the four faculties to promote the implementation of a university wide international student buddies scheme
Jade Langton: 2:31pm on 5 Jun 23 The Current President is working with SU staff to develop a paper/ proposal outlining the objectives and significance of implementing a program for International Student buddies with paid roles. This paper will be submitted to relevant committees for further consideration and discussion. Some faculties do already have a similar scheme in place, but the aim is to make it university wide.

You will be contacted by one of the Activities and Representation Coordinators to discuss your idea and make any relevant changes to it.

or your idea has been live for 6 months (whichever comes first)
Students can vote with a thumbs up (agree) or thumbs down (disagree)
Votes and comments will help the Executive Officer team make decisions
