"Talent is everywhere, opportunity is not. Talent does not rest with one particular section of society, nor does the ability to plan for those who lead different lives. Equality. diversity and inclusivity must be evident at all levels of the planning profession if we are to truly understand and respond to the diverse needs of society for whom we plan. As a profession the diversity balance is changing, but we need to do more. One of the four pillars of the RTPI’s new Corporate Strategy 2020 – 2030 is promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity and work on an Action Plan is nearing completion; known as ‘CHANGE’, this will initiate and deliver a series of projects and programmes which help to equip RTPI members and the organisations that they work for, with actions they can take now, and in the future."
Join RTPI President Sue Manns FRTPI during her Presidential visit to the West Midlands region for a lecture on inclusivity and diversity in the planning profession, followed by an evening reception.
The lecture will take place from 6-7pm in room LG12 in The Old Gym, University of Birmingham. This will be followed by the reception in the Lapworth Museum.
