You're invited to walk with LGBTQ+ Society, Burlesque Society and the Student Union in this weekend's Birmingham Pride Parade!
We're so excited to be going to Birmingham Pride, walking as a Students Union along with other students, staff and societies.
You are very welcome to walk with us in the parade, if you plan to please meet us at 11 am at Victoria Square - by the council house, if you don't know where this is give us a message on Instagram (BCUSU_LGBTQ) or on Discord!
Look out for a van & Roary, you won't be able to miss us. The parade starts at 12 but please meet us at 11am, the parade itself will take about 40minutes and will be a fairly slow walking pace. The parade is completely free to join in with too!
Please note that as Birmingham Pride is a high-profile public event, participants may be photographed or filmed by media outlets including TV & local/national press, so please make sure you're comfortable with this, we will also be taking photos and videos for our own social media.
Finally, if anyone is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, has had a positive test result in the last 10 days (prior to the event), or has been contacted by NHS track and trace and instructed to self-isolate in the last 10 days, they must not attend the event. Attendees are recommended to take a lateral flow test in the 48 hours before the event and mask-wearing and social distancing is encouraged where possible.
