The roles you're voting for:
President
The President is the leader of the committee and makes sure that everyone works well as a team. They share out relevant tasks between each committee member. The President keeps BCUSU's Student Group Coordinator up to date on the group's overall progress.
When it comes to making decisions for the group, all committee members have an equal say, but in the case of a split opinion, the President has the deciding vote.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for checking how much money is in your group's account at the start of the year. They plan how the money can be spent across the year and decide if the group will need to raise more money to achieve the group's goals. The Treasurer should make sure that there is some money left at the end of the year, ready for the next committee to take over.
Secretary
The Secretary takes lead on organising regular committee meetings, makes notes on what is said at them and tracks the tasks that each committee member has been given. These notes are then shared with your whole committee to help keep everyone organised. The Secretary makes bookings for your group, such as campus room bookings or catch ups with your BCUSU Student Group Coordinator.
Participation and Inclusion Officer
The Participation and Inclusion Officer makes sure that everyone feels welcomed into your group. They are the main point of contact for your members to give feedback to, so that you can plan activities that allow as many students to participate as possible. This individual should keep themselves updated on inclusion issues, BCUSU provides a dedicated training programme on this and would also advise you to keep in regular contact with our Liberation Societies.
