We’re teaming up with our Nursing Society to talk about being Proud to be Black in the NHS, we’ll have first-hand stories from Black professionals who have worked in the NHS.
We'll be joined by Angela Stewart, CEO for NutureCare Ltd. Angela worked as a nurse with more than 30 years experience, as a Children Intensive care Sister, Matron, Nurse Advisor, Critical Care regional manager and Community Care Manager.
Angela then saw the need for additional community support required for children and young people with complex health needs and at the end of life. This drive lead her to establish NurtureCare in 2013, who currently care for children and young adults 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NutureCare works closely with local CCG and NHS to discharge children from hospital much earlier giving the children or young person the quality of life and independence within their own home. The organisation has grown rapidly, and they now employ over 100 staff and over the last 7 years won a number of accolades.
