Top 3 Goals
- Promote, support causes and celebrate minority groups by working alongside culture and faith societies to create events, fundraise and raise awareness university wide.
- Create a university wide calendar highlighting key religious and cultural dates and celebrations. I hope to promote and educate students on the significance and importance of these dates through workshops, events and social media posts.
- Work with University and Mental Health and Wellbeing team to make campus and accommodation areas safer and more comfortable for vulnerable groups.
My Experience
I have experience in leadership from my year as Participation and Inclusions Officer for the Afro-Caribbean Society as well as co-founding the Sister Support Network. Through these roles I have acquired experience in organising and planning informative, fun and educational events. Some of my main work has included working with the local authorities, student union and West Midlands Police to improve safety for students studying across Birmingham, this is a continuing project we are still working on.
Why People Should Vote for Me
I am an empathetic person who is passionate about creating safe space for all students of different cultures, sexual orientation and faith. I believe it is important that we create a space where students can be heard, supported and uplifted. University is more than just studies, it’s a community and an experience. I want to ensure all students have the most memorable and comfortable experience in our BCU community.
