My Experience:
From the time I joined university It has been an amazing journey at Birmingham City University Students Union.
The love to interact with students around me allowed me to attend all the events. Not only had I volunteered out of university I also had the opportunity to volunteer on campus and organise events. These events gave me a wide spectrum to a great range of diverse cultures.
I was a Course Representative in my first year and a School Representative twice for the Law School. I was recognised by the Student’s Union and was awarded at the Rep Ball BCUSU as "BCUSU Executive Award Runner Up 2018-2019". I was certified for outstanding contribution by International Student Buddy Scheme in The Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences 2018 for volunteering at International Cultural Fair representing Indian culture at Curzon Atrium stalls.
Why People should vote for me?
I am a grounded, positive, honest candidate with huge amount of leadership experience, energy and listen to all of you to ensure your holistic wellbeing and student experience is the best it can be!
As an international student from India, I personally dealt with number of different hurdles, from extending circumstances to lack of resources. I was lucky enough to have exceptional advice and guidance throughout. However, I know this is not the case for all students, who are frequently let down. I will work to ensure all students have constant support and direction.
In order to deliver my aims I will use my previous experience, and I know exactly what it takes to do this role and have existing knowledge of what obstacles the position may face and more importantly how to avoid them. In addition to this I have made a number of useful contacts and allies.
