HENRY KINGDON

For an inclusive community.

1.

I am a passionate and involved member of the Students’ Union, and I am ready to serve this community. I believe that I can bring a new energy to BCUSU and make a positive change. An inclusive community which provides great opportunities is crucial to students in their academic experience, and I am ready to give my all for this purpose.

In my four years at BCU, I have seen what this community needs, and I want to provide those opportunities. I am ready to represent all the members of BCUSU, and I am excited to take on that challenge.

2.

To provide more equal opportunities and a more inclusive community.

To ensure that more students have access to the opportunities at BCUSU, including students at satellite sites.

To update the Union’s diversity policies to better protect students’ rights, to provide a more inclusive community.

To provide better financial support for students to take part in activities provided by the Union.

To provide more direct support to society leaders to assist them to run their societies to the highest possible standard.

3.

I have a great deal of experience with the work of BCUSU across my time here at BCU. I have had particular experience in leading a range of student groups, which has given me skills which I could take forward into leading the Students’ Union. I have also had experience representing my fellow students and leading course reps as a school rep, for which I was recognised with an award last academic year.

Outside of the SU, I have had experience leading within the arts industry as a theatre director, which I could bring to leading in a collaborative environment.
