Hello, my name is Nathan, and I am running for vice president of opportunities and community. As a student who has been involved in the community, I am passionate about ensuring that the student experience is engaging and fun. If elected as vice president, I will work towards making the student union an environment that gives students great opportunities.
Manifesto points:
- Supporting societies with events they would like to have: Societies play a important role in building a community and providing opportunities for students to pursue their interests. I plan to support societies by giving them the resources they need to organise events that the students want. Whether it's a charity fundraiser or a cultural celebration, I will work to ensure that societies have the support they need to create successful events.
- Having a radio show that would give students the opportunity to voice their opinions: I believe that A radio show is an excellent platform for students to voice their opinions and discuss issues that matter to them. I plan to continue to have a radio show that will be broadcasted on Scratch radio. This show would consist of different types of students coming on the show to voice their opinions.
- Providing students with workshops/events that will benefit them: As a student, I understand the challenges that come with balancing coursework, extracurricular activities, and personal responsibilities. To help students thrive, I will organise workshops and events that will provide practical skills and knowledge. This could include career fairs, networking events, and even special guest speakers. By providing students with these resources, we can equip them with the skills they need to succeed both in university and beyond.
