Think big and achieve big

Name: Pawanpreet Kaur
Position standing for : President student Union
Why are you standing?
Education has always been something close to my
heart and is the reason I am putting myself forward
for this role. Academia is more than just learning it's passion.

I feel passionately about knocking down
the bamers that are too often stopping students
achieving their aspirations.
As a student, I personally dealt with a number of different hurdles, from extenuating circumstances to lack of resources. I was lucky enough to have exceptional advice and guidance throughout, however, I know this is not the case for all students, who are frequently let down. I will work to ensure all students have constant support and direction.

Education isn't about Home students vs International students, Sciences vs Arts, or Campus vs Campus, it is about creating a united student body, that I will be
dedicated to working in partnership with.
Elect me and you will see your education and your voice at the very centre of everything I do, because students are names and not numbers.
1: Empowering the Student Voice The most important part of this role is listening to students and what it is they really want. After speaking to many students a number of aims for this role would be:

Course mentors where students willing to share their knowledge can support students across all year groups •

Setting up second hand book stalls, holding sales throughout the year, giving students the chance to sell last year's books and buy the next year's at a
bargain price,
2: Work with Student Reps and Students to make the system work for all • Ensure that student rep elections are done in a democratic and consistent way.

3: Increased support for international students and our students based across the globe
Following on with a focus on internationalisation and culture development I hope to increase and enhance international student experience.
• Proceed to evolve the services available for language development, increasing social opportunities as well as subject specific skills.
• Ensure regular face to face support for areas of concern
