Improving the lives of students with equality
1. I want to make a difference to students during their time at university, as I believe that everyone deserves to be supported and have their voice heard in and amongst the university. I want to be the voice of students who are struggling and advocate for their issues. I would be able to campaign for the needs of students with protected characteristics and ensure that they feel represented at university.
2. I am passionate about making change and want to improve access to mental health and wellbeing support for all students, especially international students. Also, to have more support staff tailored to the needs of different religions, races, gender and sexualities. I would also like to focus on making the preffered name chance process easier for for students under the trans umbrella, as the current system for name changes has proven difficult for some.
3. My experience as a school rep has helped me deal with feedback from students and complaints in an effective manner. This has also allowed me to be the voice of students who need support but may not be able to speak up about their issues. It has also allowed me to be confident campaigning for the needs of other students.
