The University administers funds for students who are in financial difficulty. This includes the Additional Financial Support Fund which is for students who may be considering leaving their course due to hardship or unexpected financial issues.
Who can apply?
Although there are specific priority groups (such as lone parents, students with disabilities or final year students) it is still worth applying if you are in financial need.
How to apply?
If you’re interested in applying you can download the application form and guidelines from iCity.
If you have any trouble filling out the form contact the Advice Centre. Once everything is completed, hand it in with the appropriate documents to Student Affairs - simple! There are no deadlines as such but take our advice and apply early as the fund can run out. You should receive a decision in writing within four weeks.
If you need help sooner, you may be able to apply for a short term loan.
If you need help budgeting, see our dedicated budgeting page.
