Palestine

The Palestine Society aims to educate students about the current issues in Palestine by bringing in speakers that will talk on the matters. As well as raising awareness of the injustices that the Palestinians face on a day-to-day basis, fundraising events will be organised to raise money for aid where it is needed in Palestine. We also work closely with other supporting organisations such as Interpal, Friends of Al Aqsa (FOA), Walsall Kobar Association and Palestine Solidarity Campaign, in order to raise awareness and ensure all funds raised are sent to the appropiate places.

The Palestine Society is a secular society that focuses on the humanitarian rights that the Palestinians are constantly denied, and thus the rights that Israel constantly violate, such as the right of return, and even childrens rights. Israel has, for the last 5 years, imposed an illegal seige on the Gaza strip that is still in tact today, denying Palestinians of goods such as honey, chocolate, crisps, pens, paper, vinigar etc - all under the name of security. Israel also continues to build illegal settlements in the West Bank forcing the Palestinians out of East Jerusalem, and upholds an illegal concrete barrier dividing Palestinians from their land and from water.

For these reasons it is important to be the Voices for the Voiceless, and help Palestinians cause!

Our main principles include equallity and freedom, and the supremecy of no human being over another. This is why the aparthied in Israel has to end.

It was wrong in South Africa and it is wrong in Palestine!
