About Computer Science Society
Our Aims
The Computer Science Society is committed to creating opportunities that go beyond the classroom. We aim to:
Build a Supportive Community
– Provide a space where students can collaborate, share knowledge, and strengthen their understanding of computer science concepts regardless of their degree and skill level.
Enhance Technical Skills
– Run coding competitions, hackathons, Capture the Flags, and challenges that sharpen programming, problem-solving, and Cybersecurity, AI, Networking and Data Science skills.
Connect with Industry
– We aim to have guest speakers, alumni, and tech professionals to keep members engaged with the latest technologies and career paths.
How We’ll Do It
Peer-Led Study Groups
– Organising regular sessions where experienced students support others in tackling difficult topics.
Hackathons & Coding Challenges
– Hosting events (virtual and in-person) with prizes and recognition to boost problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration.
Professional Connections
– Partnering with alumni and tech professionals to deliver talks, networking opportunities, and insights into industry trends.
Who Is This Society For?
Absolutely everyone!
Regardless of your course, we welcome students from all degrees.
