WHAT WE OFFER:

Our aim of this society is to give you the opportunity to try out new dance styles, improve your skills in those styles and have a fun time doing so! We want our society to be a place where you can come for 2 hours to let loose and have fun!

Our society has its doors open to anyone and everyone, so no matter what shape, size, ethnicity, or even dance ability you are, it doesn't matter, we are all there to have fun and learn new dance styles/routines.

CLASSES:

We will be in the Patricia Yardley Studio in BSA (Birmingham School of Acting, which is inside Millennium Point within the City Centre Campus) for the first 3 free sessions. Please bring your student card in order to gain access into BSA.

THE TWO TEAMS:

The competing team are likely to meet on Thursday between 6-8 every week and will be made up of roughly around 20 dancers. We are looking for people who are able to commit to rehearsals every week and we're aiming to enter three University dance competitions in 2019 (which are really good fun). Your £30 membership should cover individual entry for all of the competitions but there may be additional costs required for costumes and transport.

The Varsity team are likely to meet on Tuesdays between 6-8 every week. The team will be made up of 20+ dancers and will be taught by an external teacher. This class will be more relaxed because it's not a competitive team but, your group routine will be performed at Varsity 2019 which takes place in April. Varsity is a big University sports tournament where the BCU sports teams (e.g. football, rugby) will compete against other Uni's and we will perform in the half time breaks.

CLOTHING:

Please make sure you wear comfortable and flexible clothing. Suitable clothing would include leggings, shorts, joggers etc. Make sure to bring a bottle of water with you and bring your membership card once you purchase one. You’ll need your student card in order to gain access to the building.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:

The first three classes are free! This is so you can get a feel for the society without committing from the start. If after these 3 weeks you are successful in the audition process and want to join the society an annual membership is £30.
