We are looking for a Student Adviser to join our Advice Team. Our Advisers are responsible for the provision of high-quality advice and representation to our students. You will join us in delivering a welcoming, accessible and informative advice service covering issues such as student funding, housing and academic issues. Our preferred candidate will have at least 1 year advice and advocacy experience and experience of conducting one to one interviews with clients.
You will need to be approachable and able to relate to people, especially within sensitive situations, and you must be able to work on your own as well as within a team. BCUSU is a positive employer, with strong staff engagement, supportive working environment and enhanced employee benefits.

Hours
Full Time contract, 35 hours per week with 3 month probation period. Applications for reduced hours (paid pro-rata) or a flexible working pattern will be considered. Please state on your covering letter the details of your preferred working pattern.
Work location
You will assigned a main office base at a campus (City Centre or City South) with expectation to work at other campuses when required. We are currently trialling a hybrid working project which allows staff to work from home 2 days a week.
Holiday
32 days per annum, plus usual bank holidays
Salary
£23,870 - £26,102
