1. My name is Shaik Husna Sameera and I am running for Vice President Opportunities and Community. I am currently pursuing International MBA and am professionally an International Sports Player (Carrom board). I aspire to use my position as a responsible officer for Societies, Volunteers, and Sports to make sure BCUSU works for you. I am determined to run for this position to develop and contribute to other sports, volunteers, and societies at the university. I believe that the time spent as an international student should be what you decide to make of it, regardless of where you come from.
2. Aims I would deliver if I’m elected:
- Ensure regular student input and feedback which would enable us to tailor opportunities and activities to the interests of the students.
- Ensure all societies are given the chance to collaborate with the union to promote their events and activities, including volunteering.
- Work to provide opportunities between the university and students in order to combine academics and sports.
- Encourage the inclusion of new sports and promote participation.
- Maintain a concept of 'Teamwork' so that we would help connect all sports teams, societies, and committees, as well as acknowledge and celebrate successes together.
3. As a Sportsmen, I understand the importance and necessity to increase the engagement of committees and sports participation within the university. I was President of the Sports Club and Women Empowerment Cell, and Vice-President of the NSS Committee during my undergraduate degree (2017- 2020). I have sparked the interest of multiple students during this period by taking the initiative by organizing programs. Simultaneously, I have gained experience both personally and professionally through holding events and promoting clubs from the university to an international level. I am confident that I will accomplish in my responsibilities and prove to be an asset to BCUSU.
