Your mental wellbeing is important and the University has Mental Health Advisers and a Counselling Service to help.
To enquire about support, please complete the Pre-Mental Health and Wellbeing Form. This will help to allocate you to an appropriate adviser. You can also contact them on 0121 331 5188.
Students are also able to access the Big White Wall, a digital mental health support service which is available online, 24/7, and is completely anonymous so you can express yourself freely and openly.
If you are a student experiencing a mental health crisis or are a parent, friend or member of staff concerned about a student information about what to do can be found here.
Other services you can use include:
- Your GP – if you are not registered with a GP, find out about this here
- Forward Thinking Birmingham - the city's mental health partnership for 0-25 year olds.
- The Samaritans - provide confidential non-judgmental emotional support 24/7 dedicated to reducing feelings of distress or dispair that can lead to suicide. Call 116 123.
- Mind - help to make choices about treatment, understand your rights or reach out to sources of support.
