About BCU Tigers Cheerleading
BCU Tigers offer the opportunity to compete at two competitions a year, with 4 competitive teams available: Level 2 Stunt, Pom, Jazz and HipHop!
On cheerleading we welcome complete beginners to experienced cheerleaders, dancers and gymnasts. It is an amazing way to make close friendships across all courses and years, keep fit, improve skills and confidence, and most importantly have fun!
You can attend give-it-a-go sessions to find out whether any of our competitive teams are for you! We offer Pom, Jazz, HipHop and Stunt. Stunt cheerleading is taught by an experienced and qualified coach. Our Pom team and Jazz team have both previously gained the title of National Champions by placing 1st at Future Cheer University Nationals! Our Pom team 2022 also achieved this title at ICC University Nationals!! Our Hip-hop team is new to our socity and we can't wait to get this up and running!
If competing isn’t for you, we also offer weekly recreational cheer sessions. Here you will get the chance to learn new skills, take part in fitness sessions, try out stunting, dance with poms, and make amazing new friends. There are also opportunities to showcase your hard work, as every year we perform at half time on the final day of Varsity – we even performed live on TV for Children in Need 2017!
Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, we cheer for the different sports teams at their weekly games and also host amazing socials! Each social has a different theme each week to keep them exciting and fun, and every sports team at BCU joins in. Our main fundraiser each year is a huge themed event and a night you won’t forget, definitely something to look forward to! We also offer sober socials as well such as meals out, movie nights or visits to the trampoline park. Socials are a great way to have fun and get to know other people, whilst making so many memories that will make your university experience!
Whether you want to compete, showcase new cheer and dance skills at events or simply find a new and unique way to keep fit - COME AND JOIN CHEER! The BCU Tigers welcome everyone of all abilities and we look forward to seeing lots of new faces this year!
Embrace university life by being part of our family! Being at university is not just about working hard and completing your degree, it’s also about making friends for life and creating memories that will stay with you forever.
