About SALTSoc (Speech & Language Therapy)

What is SALTSoc?

SALTSoc is the academic society for all speech and language therapy (SLT) students within the undergraduate, masters, and apprenticeship cohorts at BCU.

What does SALTSoc do?

As well as promoting the SLT profession itself, we also provide opportunities for our members to engage in fundraising events for awareness days, meet external speakers such as specialists and newly qualified professionals, and take part in student-led socials on and off campus.

Ultimately, we want to offer a space in which the various cohorts can come together to socialise and share their passion for the profession. We are aware that we are an exceptionally large cohort studying an intense course, so SALTSoc is a way to bring students together in a relaxed environment outside of lectures.
