**NOTE** This idea has been locked and will be unavailable for voting. According to our bye laws, which have recently been redrafted, the Student Voice Co-ordinator must contact the student before the idea goes live for voting. Additionally, the union must verify that an idea was submitted by a student. These cannot occur if the idea was submitted anonymously. This idea may now be submitted from a named student account and the Student Voice Co-ordinator will carry out the correct procedures from there. Thank you! Suggestions on how to move forward with processing furlough in relation to Manpower. I believe this is the second time that they have refused to process furlough for students/graduates, yet the university still continues to use them for recruitment. Unfortunately this undermines and devalues the students and graduates. I received the following: 'Our priority remains protecting our people and supporting efforts to reduce the spread of the virus. All employees should strictly follow the government advice and laws. We must also consider the economic impact on our business as many of our employees can now not attend assignments. We have been discussing alternatives with our clients but in this instance, it is regrettable that I must confirm it is not sustainable for us to furlough you.' Can this be raised to senior representatives of the university? VC?
