The most common form of Sign Language in UK is called British Sign Language (BSL). Sign Language is a visual means of communicating using gestures, facial expression, and body language. Sign Language is used mainly by people who are Deaf or have hearing impairments.
BSL has its own grammatical structure and syntax, and is the preferred language of around 151,000 people within the UK (2022).
This workshop is for all students, irrespective of diagnosed disability. As a charity, BCUSU aims to support students with Protected Characteristics, and to encourage ways all students can support these student groups related to these characteristics.

Location: Joseph Priestley is located on Cardigan St, adjacent to Gopsal St. The Lunar Space can be found on the ground floor, inform the Reception staff that you are hear for a workshop and a member of staff will guide you to the room
