Learn to Braid Hair Workshop

Come join us for a fun and interactive Hair Braiding Workshop where you'll learn new techniques and the importance of black hair.

Local Birmingham hairdresser HairbyTia, joins us as host and teacher in this fun, beginner friendly and interactive session.

 

This event reflect's Black History Month 2025's theme 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride' by reflecting cultural identity, heritage, and the celebration of Black excellence. 

 

Who is this event for?

Designed for newbies and people who want to improve their skills and learn in a supportive environment.💇‍♀️

 

What's included in my ticket:

🪮 Mannequin for you to learn on during the session

🪮 Hair combing tools during the session

🪮 Refreshments and good vibes

Here's the schedule:

Introduction to the event and your host - (5 mins)

What braiding means to the Black community - (5 mins)

Demonstration 1 = a three-strand plait - (10 mins)

Audience tries independently - (10 mins)

Demonstration 2 = A simple Cornrow - (10 mins)

Audience tries independently while my assistant and I walk around and help 1:1 - everyone will get a chance to speak with me to help improve technique - (20 minutes)

Mini braid competition - roughly 20 mins 

Finish & certificate (10 minutes)
