Welcome to the Mooting Society.
This society is designed to give potential barristers and solicitors the spring board to fine tune their advocacy skills and hopefully make you more employable.However it is more than that, we like to see people from all different courses try and get involved because the skills that are learned through mooting or transferable to almost any area that you wish to go into.

We hold events like workshops to help you get over your initial fears of pub;lic speaking( lets face it we all have those fears) through out the year and have people on hand that can help you with your techniques when delivering a presentation. We are very fortunate as the law school is very supportive of us and we have a lot of help from the lecturers in putting on the workshops.

In addition to these we also run many internal competitions for you guys to come and argue legal points of law just like they would in a real court senario, this year due to the amount of now law students that we have had sign up we are in the process of trying to put on events for them as well.
It is through all the hard work and commitment from the mooting society committee both past and present that the society has a formidable reputaion with other universities, we have beaten some of the most high profile universities within Engalnd and will continue to do so.
We do know that it should not all be about work but it should be about having fun as well and that is why this year we are planning to up the tempo with the social events with a possible trip to the European court of Human Rights.
So come and join us have some fun and increase your skill base.
