Welcome...
Being a Student Group Leader is a great experience and will be lots of fun! The Student Activities & Development Department will be here to give you as much support as possible throughout but it also involves a bit of work from you and your members.
As a Leader you are responsible for making sure your club or society is running smoothly, is fully inclusive and accommodating of all its members. Whilst ensuring you have lots of fun, you need to make sure that the health and safety of your members is taken care of at all times!
For your club or society to be recognised as functioning this year...
• We know it’s not the most exiting of tasks but a new up to date constitution that is specific to your club or society must be completed and emailed to student.activities@bcu.ac.uk You can update your old one if you have a copy or find a template constitution on the Expectations page.
• A new Risk Assessment form need to be filled out and emailed to student.activities@bcu.ac.uk. Again if you have a copy you can update your old one or the form can be found on the Health and Safety page. If you need any help completing the Risk Assessment feel free to contact any of the Student Activities staff.
• A set of completed leader forms detailing committee roles. (You’re committee should have been decided at your AGM at the end of last term). These forms can be found on the Expectations page also.
• A signed Student Group Leader declaration form that can be found on the Expectations page.
Remember we are more than willing to help and support you in these tasks and if you’re stuck don’t hesitate to pop into the Student Activities Centre and ask!
