Associate Membership

BCUSU is required to spend it's money on supporting current enrolled students. However we also realise that there are occasions when current staff would like to get involved in society acitivity, or where a group would benefit from the involvement of alumni.

BCUSU runs an Associate Membership scheme where anyone who fits the following criteria can join our student groups:

• A current staff member of Birmingham City University
• A recent BCU graduate (from within the last three academic years)

The prospective member should approach the society in question using the details on their website page. The committee should then make an application on their behalf to the Activities and Representation Team. If the Associate Member wishes to join more than one society, an application should be made by each committee - however only one purchase of Union membership is required (as detailed below).

If the application is successful, two fee's will be charged:

• A flat fee of £15.00 to join the Union for the remainder of that academic year
• The current membership fee of each society the Associate Member wishes to join
