Welcome to the School of Art Society!
We are an academic, creative society located at the iconic Birmingham School of Art building, and the first/only BCU society based in Margaret Street.
At the School of Art Society, we're looking for any and all creative BCU students (from the School of Art and beyond) who would like a social-academic space to develop their skills, work on personal projects, complete set work or who like to network with other like-minded creatives in a comfortable and welcoming creative environment.
We will be holding society meetings once every two weeks with varying creative outcomes, such as; discussions of art/artists, collaborative projects, watching academic/creative movies, reading, broadening our members creative toolkit whilst socialising, networking, enjoying snacks and making friends. As we are an academic society one of our focuses is learning, however we provide a relaxed learning environment for all our members to expand, explore, and excel. As our society grows, we plan to host grander sessions such as artist talks and student-led trips, but we also encourage our members to suggest session ideas and to give us feedback.
As the only BCU society currently based in the School of Art building, we aim to create an accessible environment for both Margaret Street students and creative students from accross our university - our main goal is to promote inclusivity, collaboration, and to help students make connections within our campus and beyond.

This society is holding online elections to choose their new committee for the 26/27 academic year. Any paid member can apply for a committee position that interests them, and all paid members will also be able to vote for their preferred candidates.
