Scratch Radio is our award-winning student radio station, who broadcast online, via our mobile app and on your smart speaker 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our members come from a mixture of disciplines across BCU and we work alongside colleagues in the university's School of Media, giving access to world class facilities in radio, TV, photography and journalism.
Members of our team have won a variety of awards, including prizes at the UK Student Radio Awards, the New York Festival and the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards.

A number of our former members have gone on to work in various roles across the industry - and we couldn't be more proud! Here's just a handful of people who have moved forward:
Lauren Redfern started presenting show on Scratch in early 2024 alongside studying for a degree in Media Production and hosting her own show on Black Country Radio.
In Novermber 2024 she was announced as one of the new hosts for BBC Radio 1 Anthems and has since presented covered shows across Radio 1's daytime output.
Jack Carson worked as Station Director up until 2022, bringing the station through a studio move and complete overhaul. He also presented several events for BCUSU, including the Officer Election Results.
He now works as West Midlands Correspondant for GB News.
Carl Bennett worked in a number of roles within Scratch before working for the Wireless Group in London as a digital producer for talkRADIO.
He's now a senior digital producer for the national news channel, GB News.
Rachel Chew was Scratch's Assistant Station Manager between 2011 and 2014. Following her graduation, she was co-host for the Breakfast show on SAM FM in Swindon and the Nation Radio Breakfast Show across South Wales.
Recently, she's moved to Oman to present Drivetime on HiFM.
Ben Stones was part of the Scratch family until 2012 and, after graduating he went to work at BBC Radio Leicester before moving to London.
He worked as a Lead Producer for station sound for Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2 and 6Music. He now produces The Scott Mills' Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.
Dan Richards was our Assistant Station Manager until he graduated in 2011, before returning study for his MA in 2017.
He worked as a weekend and Breakfast producer at Smooth Radio and now works as a producer at BBC Radio WM alongside presenting at the weekend on Black Country Radio.
Travis Glossop finished his time at University and moved to London where he's worked on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, Magic and Kiss.
He now works for Fix Radio on their Breakfast Show.
