The Madinah Society at BCU is a student-run society that aims to promote love for Allah (the Almighty) and his Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam), his (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) Blessed Household, his (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) Blessed companions, all other pious people (may Allah be pleased with them all) and all other things relating to him (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam). We represent the traditional orthodox Sunni Islam originating from, but not limited to, the sub-continent which is found to be the mainstream and conventional form of Islam.

The Madinah Society is so called after the city of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) for two reasons

1. As a testament of our claim to love all things associated to him
2.  We represent peace, love and tolerance as the true values of Islam as were found in the Prophet city under the ‘Constitution of Madinah’.

Our Madinah Society is not just a religious society; our objectives and activities aspire to be varied in their nature to suit activities of all shades of practice. We aim to represent the spiritual, inner dimension of Islamic worship. We do this for the purpose of promoting values of love, tolerance and peace embedded in traditional Islam, for the benefit and education of the wider community. Socially, this well serve to provide a platform for students to express their views and practice amongst people of like mind. Our society aims to welcome all interested, be they Muslim or non-Muslim in this rich tradition.
