About Womens Society

Our Aims

This year, the committee has pledged to support and empower women at BCU by:

  • Reducing period poverty
  • Prioritising women's safety through participation in projects, events and further education
  • Creating a bigger sense of community amongst women at bcu.
How will we do it?

Through social events, fundraisers and awareness campaigns.

Last year we hosted socials for all self-identifying women to meet, make friends, and discuss the issues that matter to them. We've hosted anything from moodboarding sessions to a fundraiser for Refuge! Moreover, we also get our period proverty campagin on board so that our the sanitary product is placed in every gender toilet, as well as BCUSU reception! Get in touch with us on social media to find out what we're up to next.

Why join?

We fight the good fight and so can you. Join us in taking small steps towards a better future for equality, education and understanding.

Membership to our society is completely free and we provide a platform for you to speak freely and share your own stories!

Women's History Month

We are funded by your Students' Union to take the lead on Women's History Month. Each year we develop a theme, and a series of events that matter to us. Get in touch with us to find out how to get involved.

We are a Liberation Society!

Our Society is a Liberation Society, which means we never close down, are free to join and are funded by your Students' Union for our events and activities.

This is because we represent a key demographic of Birmingham City University, and are recognised by the National Union of Students as part of their Liberation Campaign.

We currently have a new discord channel for our members -->  https://discord.gg/bFW7Tczw

No elections running at the moment
