In case you missed it, on Saturday the Government announced a 4-week lockdown across England.
While this will affect your day-to-day life, the Government has recognised that it is important for education at all levels to remain open. So, there are no changes to your academic experience as it stands!
Our services will still be available to you too. Working with University, we spent the summer moving some of our services online to ensure they will be available to you no matter what COVID restrictions were in place.
We're still here for you
Studying at Uni isn’t easy at the best of times, let alone during a lockdown, but don’t worry, the Advice Centre is still here for you!
We may talk about our Advice Team a lot, but it’s just so that you’re always aware that your Students’ Union can offer help as well as practical and non-judgemental advice.
We have a range of Frequently Asked Questions, which focus on Coronavirus and how it may be affecting your studies, your housing and your finances. Take a look as there may be answers that help you. Or, log an enquiry to speak to a member of the team.
The BCU Mental Health and Wellbeing Team are available Monday to Friday 9am-5pm over the phone on 0121 331 5188, or on email at: SA.firstname.lastname@example.org. If you want to speak to someone outside of University, you can contact Birmingham Nightline – a confidential listening service run by students.
Our students are at the heart of every decision we make, and we understand that it’s important that we support each other during times like these. Over the next month, we will have plenty of events for you to get involved with on our What’s On page.
You can meet other BCU students by joining one of our many societies. Check out what groups you can join.
The safety and security of our students is our priority. That’s why we urge you to keep using Notify – BCU's Track + Trace system. Download the app now. Using Notify, you can report COVID-19 cases and Health and Safety breaches and help us keep our campuses safe.
Take care of yourself and remember to practice self-care over these next few weeks.
Os deseo lo mejor,
Victoria, your Students’ Union President
