Vittoria Street Student Voice

Students at Vittoria Street feel that they are not considered when it comes to promotion of events, often hearing about them too late in the day. They also want more info on societies, sports and sports grounds.

We listened...

The Union is looking into how better to ensure that events are promoted in plenty of time at all campuses and will also make sure that relevant information is provided for the students.

Students are unhappy there is no longer a café, although they accept that there are lots of other places near to campus to get food. They find the vending machines too expensive and would like a microwave and a kettle.

We listened...

We will pass on these concerns to the Faculty although it seems unlikely that a canteen will be provided. Health and safety and cleaning considerations would need to be taken into account when discussing whether or not microwaves and kettles could be provided.

Students feel there is a lack of communication with other campuses.

We listened...

The Union will pass this on to the Faculty and also look at what the Union can do to support cross-campus collaboration.

Students expressed their concern at the cost of materials and increased financial pressures as fees go up.

We listened...

The Union is investigating with BIAD more specific support through students forming societies, who can fundraise and access Union money, or by helping students to sell their work.

Students at Vittoria Street would like to see more computer labs available on campus.

Students would like transport to be provided to other campuses.

We listened....

This is something the Union can discuss with the University; however, it is not something that the Union can provide.  We would encourage students to make use of the existing bus network
