Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend the Graduation Ball?
This prestigious event can be attended by all Birmingham City University students who are leaving/graduating this academic year.
Can I bring a friend?
Each student can purchase up to 4 tickets. Your 3 guests do not need to be graduating or studying at Birmingham City University but we will require their name at the point of purchase. Please note, you will be responsible for their conduct at the event.
Where can I get my tickets from?
Tickets can ONLY be purchased online.
Where do I collect my tickets from?
You don't need to worry about collecting your tickets. We will post them to you FREE of charge. You will be asked to submit a full mailing address during the ticket buying process.
How do I arrange to sit on the same table as my friends?
Once you receive your paper ticket use the reference number(s) to put yourself on the seating plan. You will need to log on the website, go to ‘seating plan' and follow the instructions to add yourself/friends on a new/existing table. All tables have 12 seats. If you are reserving seats for your friends, you will need to know their ticket numbers in order to complete the process.
There is a menu choice, when & how do I select my food?
You will be given the opportunity to select your menu choices when you reserve your seats on the table plan. Please ensure you have your guests choices to hand as well as your own. The menu can be found on the website.
What if I change my mind about the seating arrangements?
That's fine. 'Group leaders' (students who created the tables originally) are able to add/delete people on the seating plan.
I cannot afford to pay the full ticket price at this time but still want to come.
No problem. You can purchase your ticket in 2 instalments. A non-refundable deposit of just £10 will reserve your Graduation Ball ticket. You will then need to pay the balance (£29.50) no later than 20th May 2012.
What happens if, after I have bought my ticket, I can't go?
We appreciate that circumstances can change and therefore we can offer a 75% refund up to 4 weeks before the event. A 50% refund is available up to 2 weeks before the event. After this, no refund can be given. Notice of cancellation must be given to The Commercial Department on 0121 331 6834. Please note, a refund will only be granted on presentation of an unspoilt ticket.
Our course finishes in July. Can we have a separate Graduation Ball?
Our intention is to celebrate the achievements of all our final year students at one event. We appreciate that different faculties and campuses finish at different times however we are inviting all these students to attend.
