    Hello All,

YES!  believe it or not but our Student Union Is on the up, going One direction in ensuring you get the best student experience ever.

Firstly im hoping all you students out there are still enjoying yourselfs but can imagine you may have many deadlines coming up for assignments or on placements so I wish you the very best in all your studies. At the same time I beleive it is still important you do let off some steam and come down and enjoy many of our 'So many Activities' run buy our student led volounteers. I have been sticking to going around all the teams to ensure we are providing the best coaches and to aid in new stuff - One of the main Highlights for our student groups last week was that I went to cheerleading to help out in stunting which hopefully provided a more physical mean to the sport and am hoping all members enjoyed it and stunting will carry on.

Sports and Socieities council have been going extremly well and all committee members are showing great signs of leadership and loyality in making sure all groups are still running and have been on the ball applying for succesfull bids in our development pots. Rugby womens being awarded £200 for extra facility hire for coaching sessions so they were prepared for their tournaments which were both won by our Womens Rugby Team,Netball applied for a well assesed bid from the committee in regards to hiring out the facilities for an extra hour due to increase participation in the sport and now a plan has been draw up with me and coach for  well balanced sessions so all students are engaged in the sport.

I have been working closely with the elected Nus be a champion student ambassador applying for a bid for our inspired mark project. I am extremely keen to make sure this project which will be released in the next blog to happen as would like the Students union to recieve an olympic accrediation of either Gold, silver and bronze.

Student Activities first trip went very well which was too Amsterdam and from what I gathered all students had a great time in venturing around the city enjoying all the sites and checking out all musuems. There still are many trips going ahead for the rest of the year as we dont just stop there. Upcoming trips that are either planned or in the process are:-

    Bath and stonehenge 11th February

    Paris - Tbc around March

    Salou - 9th - 15th april.

Pop into Student Activities to find out more information or feel free to drop me an email on union.activitiesandsports@bcu.ac.uk
