What’s it all about?

Every single student at Birmingham City University is automatically a member of the Students’ Union (check the back of your Uni card!). We think it's really important that our members have a say in how the Union is run in the future. This includes our priorities, values, aims etc.

Like many other organisations, the Union has been affected by the recession. Therefore, we want to make sure out spending reflects what you want from YOUR Students’ Union.

We also have a wide, diverse mix of students with different views and expectations of us and University Life. City 1000 will help us gain a better understanding of your needs and what you want from your Union.

How is it going to work?

We’re going to speak to a 1,000 different people. First, we are going to ask you for a rough idea of what you want and then produce a draft 3 year plan along those lines. We will then ask you if the plan is right and the final version will be approved at Student Council.

Why should you care?

We need your feedback to ensure things are improved and changed to provide the best service for ALL students. Is there something we are missing?

We aim to provide a better experience and more support for you and other students. But the only way we can improve is through your feedback. If you want a better Union and a better time at University we need you to let us know your thoughts on your priorities.
